Remove GREEN SCREEN Fast: FREE Version DaVinci Resolve 19 - In this DaVinci Resolve editing tutorial, Alli shows you how to quickly and easily remove green screen from the background of your footage in DaVinci Resolve AND right in the Edit page. You can use this editing effect both in the Free and Paid Studio version of DaVinci Resolve!

I'm going to show you a super fast, simple, and easy way to remove green screen in the free version of Resolve, right in the Edit page, so that you can put whatever background you want behind your person.

If you're new here, I'm Ally and Will, and I release weekly DaVinci Resolve editing tutorials as well as gear reviews. If you're into that sort of thing, subscribe to stay in the loop. Now, let's hop into Resolve and check this out.

Now, just got to say, there are a few different ways that you can remove green screen in Resolve. The other ways are a little more complicated, and you're using the Color page or Fusion page. If you want to see an in-depth tutorial looking at how to do this, though, please let me know in the comments below, because then I'll make it for you.

Open Effects and search for 3D Key. It's not showing up because we have to select Open Effects here. Okay, there it is. Drag it onto your clip. I'll close the Effects tab so we have more screen real estate to look at the stuff that matters right now. We have to click this drop-down menu and choose Open Effects Overlay.

Now we're able to click and drag on our green screen, and we want to do this to get rid of any of these white areas. That's pretty good. All righty, we still have a little bit of green showing around her hair.

In our Inspector, under the Behavior option, let's increase the D Spill slider to one. Already, that's massively improved things. Going to zoom in here. Okay, her hair still looks just a bit off, so to make this look better, let's click the Matte Finesse drop-down menu and adjust our Clean Black slider until the hair is looking more natural. It'll actually be easier to see if we put a background behind her.

Okay, now I like to go to two here and adjust the D Noise slider as well to get rid of some of that noise. I also find adjusting the Shadow slider helps. You don't want to push it too much, though, or your person is just going to disappear like a ghost. Okay, that's looking good.

If you do still see any random green screen peeking through, like here in her hair, I can see some wonky color happening. Another thing you can do is grab this plus eyedropper and draw it over that area to select it and let Resolve know that you consider that part of the green screen.

Okay, nice. Let's check her out. Awesome! That's how easy it is to remove green screen from your background in the Edit page.
