In this quick tutorial, I'm going to show you how to find LUTs, how to install LUTs, and how to favorite LUTs so that they're easier to find when you want to work with them. If you want to get your hands on the LUTs that we use in our videos, our pack is on sale now at alienwill.com. Link in the description. How many times am I going to say "let's" in this video? And if you're new here, I'm Ali and Will, and I release weekly videos all about video editing, videography, as well as gear reviews. Coming up soon, I'm going to be releasing a video teaching beginners about nodes, and I'm also working on a bigger in-depth tutorial all about the Fairlight page. So, subscribe to our channel to see those when they come out. Now, let's hop into Resolve and get started.

Let's pop over to our color page. So, first things first, if you want to know where to find your LUTs, go up to the top left here, click on LUTs, and here they are. Using LUTs gives you a good starting point for when you're color grading, but depending on your footage, you will want to customize the LUT to fit the look you're going for.

And if you'd like me to create a tutorial showing you how I use LUTs to create a stylized look, let me know in the comments below. If you want to find out where your LUTs are located, go down to the bottom right and click on the wrench to open up project settings. Choose color management, select "Open LUT folder," and here are your LUTs. For me, being on a Mac, I can reference down here to look at exactly which folder within which folder my LUTs are in.

Now, let's say you want to install some LUTs in Resolve. Like, for example, I would like to install my Ali and Will's LUT pack, which are right here. So, what we can do is drag those LUTs into our LUTs folder. I'll close that. Okay, here they all are. Pop back into DaVinci, and we're still in our project settings color management tab. Next, click on "Update List." Okay, and doing that has brought in my Ali and Will's LUT pack. Now, I can select it, and I love "Bright Sky Blue Day." I use it all the time on my YouTube talking head footage to make it super easy to find. I'll select it, right-click, and choose "Add to Favorites." Now, at the bottom of all my LUTs, I can click on "Favorites," and there it is. Awesome!

So, there you go. That's how to find, install, and favorite LUTs in Resolve. If you like the music in this video or you want to know the gear that we use and recommend, check out the description below. For more Resolve tutorials, check out our DaVinci Resolve playlist. Subscribe for weekly editing and videography tutorials from us, and I will see you in another video.
