How To Update Sony A7Siii FIRMWARE (& Sony FX3 Firmware) To Get S-Cinetone
Sony introduced the Sony A7Siii camera which had incredible features and it got amazing reviews, we love it! However, it didn’t have the S-Cinetone option as a video profile to shoot with so Sony released a new firware update that fixed a few bugs, introduced a few subtle changes, and answered everyone’s request to add S-Cinetone! In this video, Will teaches you how to quickly update your Sony A7Siii camera, or Sony FX3 camera to the latest firmware in just a few easy steps. Let’s jump in!

Welcome back to another video in this one i'm going to quickly show you how to update your firmware on your sony a7s3 let's jump in.
With your browser open type in a7s3 update firmware and then the top link should be the sony website click that that'll bring you to the page where you can download either the firmware update for windows or the firmware update for mac, so obviously depending on which system you're on, you're going to want to choose the correct one.
For Mac, it's a slightly different process; you will need to download the proper driver for your Mac system whether it's the new silicon or the old intel processor and once that's installed everything else should be the same as the windows process so i will go back to the windows process here click on windows on sony's website they have a whole breakdown of exactly what you need to do i will say that it's a pretty big read and you don't need to address all the things they talk about.
In fact there's probably only about three steps which are download the software connect your camera and run through the steps that are automated for you on screen then it's just done i know on some other cameras you have to format the sd card within the camera then take the sd card out put on your computer transfer the file onto the sd card then take the sd card put it back in your camera and then run the firmware from the sd card inside your camera to get it to update but in this case with the sony a7s3 and i believe it's the same for the fx3 you literally don't do anything with the sd card you just literally plug your camera in and then follow the prompts.
After you've downloaded the software onto your computer again it's pretty automated and straightforward they basically just have like next next next and it kind of walks you through all the steps like any other program would so it's a lot lot simpler than previous cameras i've used which is fantastic i was able to get it updated in about 15 minutes so it's pretty straightforward just follow the prompts on screen with your camera connected with a full battery and you should have your camera updated to the latest firmware in about 10 or 15 minutes.
